Beginners' Golf Programme
The Beginners' Programme is run by the Asian Golf Academy and your professional golf coach is Darren Carroll - read Darren's bio., and catch him as a guest presenter on the ESPN STAR Sports channel TV programme "Golf Focus" on Tuesdays. Lessons are conducted at the Nature Park Driving Range (located at 601 Sin Ming Avenue, Singapore 575734 - formerly known as Bishan Driving Range), and are available Tuesday-Sunday inclusive within the following times : -
Monday: n/a
Tuesday: 7 am. - 7 pm.
Wednesday: 3 pm. - 10 pm.
Thursday: 7 am. - 7 pm.
Friday: 3 pm. - 10 pm.
Saturday: 7 am. - 7 pm.
Sunday: 8 am. - 2 pm.
The Beginners' Programme is designed specifically for those who have little to no experience in playing golf. Players are introduced to the easiest elements of the game, and then build up basic skills in each lesson until they are at a level where they can play competently on the golf course. A proficiency certificate (PC) will be awarded on successful completion of the Beginners' Programme, which involves reaching the required golfing standard, showing competence, and passing a straightforward rules and etiquette golf test.
The Beginners' Programme is for individuals, or put together your own group of people (maximum 6 pax.) of a similar standard. It consists of a total of 10 hours of tuition (usually conducted once or twice a week) and includes a final 2-hour lesson on a 9-hole golf course. The timing of the ten-hour programme can be tailor-made to fit your schedule - one lesson per week is recommended, with self-practice in between - two lessons per week maximum.
