The Cosmoleague 2009/2010 runs from Saturdays 15 August 2010 - 12 June 2010, with 15 participating soccer teams. Check out the Cosmo League website for more details and fixtures/results.
Singapore's Cosmo (short for Cosmopolitan) Football League was founded in 1975 in order to provide friendly soccer during the off-season and for players who were not members of more formal clubs. The name "Cosmopolitan" was chosen to reflect the fact that most participating teams were organised along loose nationailty lines. Since those early days, the Cosmo League has developed into a well-organised operation, headed by a committee that sets the competition rules, and arranges all fixtures, pitches and referees (three officials at every game) during a season running from mid-August to mid-June.
Your soccer-mad friends or relatives will love reading this Match Annual or books about their favourite football clubs.

A total of twenty teams were drawn in five groups of four, where the top two teams from each group progress to the Asian Cup finals. Singapore was drawn in Group E, along with Thailand, Jordan, and three-time winners Iran. The other groups so far consist of host Qatar, and the top three finishers in last year's AFC Asian Cup finals - Iraq, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Two other slots will be reserved for the champions of the 2008 and 2010 AFC Challenge Cups.
